He is survived by: his wife Deborah Carter of Kingsland, GA; his children, Joey Carter (Stacy) of Fernandina Beach, FL and Misty Sherwood of Fernandina Beach; his stepchildren, Rick Oliver of Kingsland, GA, Stacy Dietz (Kevin) of Hilliard, FL and Jaime Hatch (David) of Yulee, FL; his mother Alberta Carter of Fernandina Beach; his siblings, Michael Carter (Sheila) of Jacksonville, FL, Gail Sikes (Jack) of Fernandina Beach and Faye Carter of Fernandina Beach; his grandsons, Elijah Sherwood and Josiah Sherwood; and his stepgrandchildren, Courtney Dietz, Savannah Pickren (Colt), Billie Jo Dietz, Lyndsey Hatch, Jacob Hatch and Rylee Hatch.
