He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Kives and Julia Kives; his wife Maydee Peeples Kives; and his siblings, Alexander Kives, Julia Kives, Joseph Kives and Julius Kives.
He is survived by: his brother John Kives; and his close friend Rosa Mae Seals. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
