He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Herman Dampier and Evelyn Celoystene Elliott Dampier (Tina); and his brother Johnny Marcus Dampier. He is survived by: his stepdaughter Felicia Riggs-Shinkle of Brunswick; his siblings, Toleda Bargeron (Steve) of Lakeland, GA, Steve Dampier of St. Marys, Kivan Dampier of St. Marys and Daniel Dampier (Colleen) of Folkston; his sister-in-law Cheri Dampier of Arkansas; and his nieces and nephews, Doug, Dustin, Jamie, John, Becky, Jenn, Ashley, Devon, Atticus, Jessica, Brandie, Melissa, Jason, Danielle, Heather and David.
