He was predeceased by: his father Lynward Eakes; and his brother-in-law Ray Lewis. He is survived by: his son Chris Eakes (Caitlin) of Woodbine, GA; his siblings, Diane Thrash of Kingsland, GA, Patricia Sikes (Ernest) of Folkston, GA, Mike Eakes of Woodbine, GA and Sheila Lewis of Kingsland, GA.; and his grandchildren, Kyla Eakes and Clayton Eakes.
