He was predeceased by: his parents, Asa Benson and Bessie Benson; and his uncle Willie Springer. He is survived by: his sister Dorothy Mae Benson; his former wife Patricia Robinson; his wife Cynthia Paulette Gordon; his siblings, Dorothy M. Evans and Byron Wells; his aunt Peggy Young; and also Byron Andre Wells. He is also survived by his five children, 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. And a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family friends.
