It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Gillespie (Kennesaw, Georgia), born in Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on January 6, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Newton Gillespie and Christine Gillespie; his sons, Ray Gillespie Jr. and Nick Schaffer; his siblings, Maxine Hudson, James Gillespie, Elizabeth Waldrop, Charlotte Giles and Charles Gillespie; and his granddaughter Courtney Atkinson.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Gillespie; his children, Jim Schaffer (Dawn), Tena Probst (Wayne) and Celeste Keeter (Ross); his daughter-in-law Teresa Schaffer; and his grandchildren, Dustin Gillespie, Ray Gillespie, III, Falon Toenis, Joni Wilbanks, Meghan Slone, Stephanie Schaffer, Kara Slavens, Travis Spriggs, Dustin Schaffer, Kyle Schaffer, Jordan Schaffer, Amanda Fiehrer and Natalie Upton. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
