She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip Thomas and Paula Thomas; her husband William "Gene" Root; her brother Philip Thomas; her grandson Mark Klaus; and her son-in-law Harry Klaus.
She is survived by: her sister Lynn Saab (Peter John); her children, Marsha Klaus, Cheryl Root, Mary Root (Lisa) and Steven Root (Chantelle); and her grandchildren, Kimberly Estep, Daniel Root, Meryl Redmon-Root and Kristina Chandler (Aaron). She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
