She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton Brown and Villa Castille Brown; and her daughter Cheryl Tyndale. She is survived by: her husband David A. Welch; her children, Betty Thackston, Ann Bradley, Melinda Poole and David Welch III; and her brother Kenneth Brown. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
