He was predeceased by: his parents, Elton McCarty and Bobbie Ruth McCarty; his siblings, Charles McCarty, Virginia Covil and Beverly Ann McCarty; his nephew Keith Sutton; and his brother-in-law Tommy Arnold.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen P. McCarty; his son Scott McCarty (Tosha); his sister Debra Lowery; his grandchildren, Cameron McCarty and Tyler Nash; his nieces and nephews, Robert Sutton, Micki Harrison, Shannon Norris, Matt Covil, Michelle Phillips, Woody Miller and Honorary; his granddaughter Katie Morgan; and his siblings-in-law, Eddie Arnold (Tammy), Billie Sue Shores, Chris Byrd (Barry), Diane Royal and Donna Smith (Ty).
