Wanda Louise Hurt Johnson
Wanda “Polly” Louise Hurt Johnson, 77, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008. She was born on Wednesday, May 27, 1931, in Ider, Alabama.
In the realm of family, Wanda was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children Bobby Johnson, Debra Oliver, and Sandra (Frankie) Jenkins who will forever hold her memory dear in their hearts. Wanda’s grandchildren, Clayton (Melissa) Oliver, Robin (Ben) Roberson, Crystal Jenkins, Nicholas, Bobby, and Michael Johnson, and Frankie Jenkins, and great-grandchildren, Morgan and Alex Roberson, and Taylor Oliver were cherished blessings that brought immeasurable joy to her life. Wanda’s sister Willodeen (Peggy) Entrekin and brother Aubrey (Jessie) Hurtt and many nieces and nephews also mourn her loss deeply. While we grieve her passing, we take solace in knowing that Wanda’s (Polly, Nannie) spirit lives on within each of us, a gentle reminder to embrace life's beauty.
Polly’s legacy shines brightly through the lives she touched and the love she shared. She was preceded in death by her parents Amos Alexander Hurt and Minnie Mae Brock Hurt, her sister, Janeal Glass, brothers Thomas Braxton Hurtt and John Winford Hurtt, and son, Ervin Alexander Johnson.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at 4:00p at Horis A. Ward, Tara Chapel. Cremation will take place after the service.
