She was predeceased by: her parents, Sousei Chinen and Yone Chinen; her husband John Ball; her daughter Akemi Zervoulakos; her siblings, Souchi, Yoshiko and Yukiko; and her friends, Lina Stephens and Rose Campbell.
She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth C. Oliver; her grandchildren, Dino Zervoulakos, Tonya Hussein, Sarah Oliver and Joey Zervoulakos; her great grandchildren, Denim Zervoulakos and Grayson Hussein; and her siblings, Souei, Soutoku, Mitsuko, Tomiko and Sueko. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
