He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lewis Thomas and Alice Rose Thomas (House); his wife Mildred Elizabeth Thomas (Brendza); his daughter Laura (Costa); and his brother James Lewis Thomas, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Vernon Thomas (Jennifer) of Stockbridge, Lisa Thomas (Bill Hudgins) of Stockbridge and Trisha Clark (Chris) of Stockbridge; his son-in-law Ilton (Costa); his sister Marilyn Williamson of Cordele, GA; his grandchildren, Allison Smith (Bobby), Meagan Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Robert Abel, Michael Thomas, Maria Golden (Luke), Alex Hayes, Morganne Thomas, Billy Lord, Austin Clark, Taylor Meares, Ashly Patterson and McKenzy Hudgins; and his great grandchildren, Autumn Abel, Joseph Combs, Elizabeth Smith and Kimi Abel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
