It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nathan Johnson of Jonesboro, Georgia, born in Monroe, Georgia, who passed away on May 20, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Harold Johnson and Nellie Mae Kines Johnson; his wife Carey Ann Slaton Johnson; and his granddaughter Tonya Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Kendrick of Monroe, David Johnson of Monroe, Phyllis Gossett of Jonesboro and Rodney Johnson of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, Stephanie Dillard, Rebecca Dillard, Amanda Dillard, Cody Johnson, Cecilia Johnson, Nathan Gossett and Katelyn Gossett (Johnny Ontivelos); his siblings, Edna Saunders and Emmett; and his sister-in-law Pat Johnson. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
