He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruther Mercer and Alberta Mercer (Simons); his siblings, Henry Mercer, Ezell Mercer and Bertha Lee Polete; his sons, Lavell Mercer and Perry Mercer; and his grandson Nicolas Mercer.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra of Jonesboro; his siblings, Margarett Baines, Nobie Mercer (Reginia) of Joliet, Illinois., Roy Mercer of Joliet, Illinois., Paul Mercer of Joliet, Illinois. and Alberta Green (Wilford) of Houston Texas; and his children, Hosea Mercer, Jr. (Mary) of Bakersville California, Kenneth Davis (Taleasha) of Joliet, Illinois, Heidi Mccullough of Jonesboro, Clayton Ferguson of Jonesboro and Stephanie Boyd (Ricky). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel (376 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, GA 30281). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
