He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Shelor Kirby and Ruby Cornelia Black Kirby; his wife Mattie Sue Buff Kirby; his son Richard Scott Kirby; his siblings, David, Jimmy Kirby, Barbara Kendrick and Lois McKinney; and his son-in-law Michael Head.
He is survived by: his daughter Vicki Head of Jesup; his siblings, Ronnie Kirby and Gail Kirby of Seneca; and his grandchildren, Ethan Micha Head of Jesup, Harley Elizabeth Head of Jesup and Emerald Hickmon (Eric) of Kingsland, Georgia.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Howard & Jones Funeral Home (777 S 1st St, Jesup, GA 31545). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
