He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. John J. Floyd and Sula Hesters; his stepmother Mae Harkins Floyd; and his siblings, Doris Strickland (Marvin) and Nathan Floyd (Ginny).
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Flowers Floyd of Jesup; his children, William D. (Becky) of Jesup, Una van den Heuvel (Glenn) of Greenville and Neva Carey (Dan) of Chattanooga; his grandchildren, Daniel Floyd (Kayte) of Jacksonville, Leah R. Floyd of St. Petersburg, John Floyd of Tampa, Ruth Ann Floyd of Raleigh, Matthew, Darius William and Andrew Carey (Liz) of Chattanooga; and his great grandchildren, William Floyd, Grayson and Nora Carey.
