He is survived by: his wife Leaphart Garbutt of Jesup; his children, Randall Garbutt and Elizabeth Anne Chappell (Dan) of Montgomery, Alabama; his sister Rebecca Garbutt Aiello of Cumming, Georgia; his grandchildren, Hillary Dent, Isabella Garbutt, Betty Chappell, Ella Geiger and Sophie Lewis; his great grandchild Wesley Dent; and his siblings-in-law, Ben Leaphart (Millie) of Greenville and Beverly Leaphart of Jesup.
