She was predeceased by: her parents, Mark Hickson and Lilla Mae Houston Hickson; and her siblings, Jessiemae Sands, Irvin Hickson, Clyde Hickson and George Houston.
She is survived by: her husband Harold Thornton of Jesup; her children, Kathy Kicklighter (Don) of Jesup and Nelson Brown (Lori) of Jesup; her siblings, Kathleen Clark of Jacksonville, Fla. and Jimmy Houston (Janet) of Brunswick; her grandchildren, Bradley Kicklighter, Lyndsey Gegg, Zachary Kicklighter, Bryant Brown and Morgin Beverly; and her stepchildren, Donna Dyer of Savannah, Sherry Rowe of Maryland, Joey Thornton (Tammy) of Jesup, Tony Thornton of Jesup and Chris Thornton of Jesup. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, July 6, 2020 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home with COVID-19 mandates in place with Rev. Vic Anderson officiating.
