He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Roger D. "D. J."; his parents, Roger Simmons and Faith Simmons; his brothers, Thomas and John Simmons; his wife Susan Roland Simmons of Jesup; his children, Carrie Casey of Allenhurst, Jason Simmons (Gertina) of Lake Charles and Joe Simmons (Brandi Bower) of Jesup; and his stepson Mike Barnes (Katie) of Jesup. He was also cherished by 5 grandsons and 5 granddaughters and a great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
