James Edward Clary Obituary
James Edward "Eddie" Clary, 53, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at home under the care of GHC Hospice.
A native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, Eddie was born on July 14, 1968. He graduated from Wayne County High School with the class of 1986 before attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC). Eddie had worked as a millwright and he was an expert machinist, but he loved farming. Always an avid outdoorsman, when he wasn't farming, he enjoyed fishing, especially for white perch. He also enjoyed horses, motorcycles and hunting, but more than anything else, Eddie loved spending time with the ones he loved the most, his family. Eddie took time to teach his children the value of hard work and in his later years enjoyed sitting back watching the grandkids play.
His father, Revis Clary; son, James Decoda Clary; "in-laws", Rick and Sarah Sellers; paternal grandparents, J.E. and Ada Clary and maternal grandparents, James and Oveida Johnson, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of thirteen years, Rikki Sellers Clary of Odum; children, John Taylor Clary (Bekka) of Odum and Madilyn, Sara-Hayden and Ada Gail Clary all of Odum; mother, Gail Clary of Odum; siblings, Shnelda Reddish (Brad) , Archie Clary (Beth) and Lana Carter (Pat) all of Odum and Ginger Havard (Dwayne) of Warner Robbins, Georgia; grandchildren, Carley, Peyton, Cooper, Cash, Braxton, Jordyn, Bentley, Kadence and Micha. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Turning Point Worship Center with Reverends, Justin Mitchell, Larry Harris and Joseph Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
Interment will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Paul and Allen Dukes, Josh Wilkerson, John Taylor Clary, Chris Kersey, Grady Miles, Shorty Ogden and Bryan Courson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Davis Moon, Jesse and Lindsey Ogden, Katie and Jimmy Davis, the Street Salt Community, Appling Family Total Healthcare, Adam and Melanie O'Quinn, Breanna Harris, Vernon Nolan, Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Wheelis, Shellie Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Mitch Beverly, Stacey McMinm, Clint Waits, Jerome Eason, Jim and Vanessa Robinson, Tonya Miles and Michael and Terri Harvey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used for education later in life by his children.
