He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Holt and Myrtle Holt of Jesup; and his brothers, Johnny, Eddie and Earl Holt.

He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Holt; his children, Donna Holt of Odum, Chandra Cox (Randolph) of Jesup and Ernie Holt, Jr. of Jesup; his grandchildren, Aaron Holt, Ethan Shell, Jacob, Brandon Cox, Samantha Johnson (Jeremy) and Brieanna Summerall; his great grandchildren, Riley and Saylor Johnson; and his brother Floyd Holt (Betty) of Hortense. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
