He was predeceased by: his parents, Demery Howard and Mamie Fulton Howard; his siblings, Lilla Mae Tyre, Minnie Lee Roberson, Bertha McNicholl, Louise Ribron and Burel Demery Howard, Jr.; and his daughter Myrtice Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Howard Mathis of Jesup, Deanna Howard Miller of Jesup, Elbert Davis of Kingsland, Thomas Howard (Teresa) of Augusta and Joe Robert Howard of Kingsland; his sister Freeda Brazell of Ludowici; his daughter Mae Howard Starling; his sister-in-law Myrtice Howard of Brunswick; and his stepchildren, Stacie Hershaw (Ulysses) of Brunswick, Sharon Conway (Chris) of Kingsland and Richard Carver (Tiffiny) of Davenport, IA.. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
