He was predeceased by: his daughter Sonya Lewis Boatright; his parents, William Glenn and Lucy Wiggins Lewis; and his brothers, Lamar Lewis and Thomas Green Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Manning Lewis of Jesup; his children, Melissa Beaver (Jay) of Jesup and Donzell, Jr.; his son-in-law Brian Boatright of Screven; his grandchildren, Dalton, Darrin, Aidan Boatright, Lucy Lewis and Suzanne Beaver; his sisters, Glenna Parker Eubank of Jesup, Betty Ann Lewis of Jesup and Janice Smith of Jesup; and his sister-in-law Juanita Lewis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
