He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack W. Stephens and Mildred Strickland Stephens; and his brothers, Merle Stephens, Joseph Genell Stephens of Odum and James W. Stephens, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Melba P. Stephens of Odum; his children, William C. "Dell" Stephens (Ronda) of Odum, Melanie Williamson (Derrell) of Odum and Michelle Blocker (Jonathan) of Odum; his grandchildren, Dedra of Odum, Denise Stephens of Odum, Gerimi Palmer (Jenny) of Odum and Michael Williamson of Odum; and his great grandchildren, Tyler, Maisie Palmer, Stella Morris (Braden), Saje Williamson, Dayla Godbee and Lanie Stephens. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM and from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Howard & Jones Funeral Home (777 S 1st St, Jesup, GA 31545). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 16th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Red Hill Cemetery.
