It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carobeth Surrency Highsmith of Jesup, Georgia, who passed away on August 31, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Troy Highsmith; her son Bill Highsmith; her parents, Terrel Surrency and Bessie Surrency; her son-in-law Larry Lewis; and her siblings, Frank, Griffin Surrency and Nanelle Surrency Bacon.
She is survived by: her daughters, Caroline Elizabeth and Gale Highsmith Lewis; her siblings, Lauree Surrency Hires and Tyler Surrency; her grandchildren, Jenny Lewis Stoner (Mark) of Waxhaw, NC, Rhonda Lewis Martin (John) of Brunswick, Josh Highsmith of Orlando, FL and Bo Lewis (Jeanne Anne) of Waxhaw, NC; and her daughter-in-law Cynthia Highsmith of St. Petersburg, Fla.. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
