He was predeceased by: his wife Jessie Rose Reno Parson; his parents, Oscar Clarence and Sophia Turpin Parson; and his sisters, Bonnie Sharp and Helen Smathers.
He is survived by: his sons, Eddy Parson (Donna) of Jesup, Doug Parson (Janice) of Jesup and Phil Parson (Peggy) of Jesup; his sister Marie Burrell of Maggie Valley; his grandchildren, Allison Lynes (Jimmy), Erica Craven, Doug Parson, Jr., Kelly Hyers and Cynthia Parson; and his great grandchildren, Emery, Grayson Hyers, Jules, Jeb Craven, Kendall, Harrison and Corbin Lynes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
