He is survived by: his wife Joan Grayson Thornton of Jesup; his children, Lisa Hughes (James) of Jesup and Derrick Thornton (Sarah) of Moultrie; his grandchildren, Taylor and Julia Thornton of Aaron Little; and his siblings, Jackie Wiliford (Bobby) of Jesup, Glenn Thornton (Roberta) of Griffin and Ralph Thornton (Diane) of Hoboken. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
