He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Spencer Simmons Sr. and Carrie Adeline Hallenbeck Simmons; his wife Edith L. Small Simmons; his siblings, Florence Gibson, Lois Simmons, Jean Bacote and Miriam Dunn; and his foster daughters, Natalie Hull and Lakesha Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Butch, Jeremy Craig Edward, Renee Simmons Matthews (Kenneth), Destin of Flowery Branch, GA and Vaughn Simmons (Adrienne); his grandchildren, Taylar, Andrew, Ryan of Rosedale, NY and Jeremy Simmons (J'Nell) of New York, NY; his foster daughter Sheila Hamberlin; and his siblings, Juanita White, Rev. Clifford Simmons, Jr., Mary Thomas (Horace), Carol Griffith, Rev. Ronald Simmons (Diane), Beryl Dillon and Judi Elam (James). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, God children, and many, many friends.
