He is survived by: his children, Angela Maddox Hicks (Ricky) and James G. Maddox, Jr. (Melinda); his grandchildren, Harbor Nicole Hicks, Richard Bailey Hicks IV, Christopher James Maddox (Rachel), Anna Garland Maddox and Austin Davis Maddox; and his siblings, Phyllis Watson, Sidney Maddox and Faye Ann Maddox.
