He was predeceased by: his former wife Sandra Annette Phillips; his grandson Joshua Phillips; and his brothers, Melford Phillips, Jamie Phillips, Sant Phillips, Everett Phillips and Ralph Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Mahan Phillips; his children, Steve Phillips (Wendy), Terry Phillips (Susan), Commerce and Connie Phillips Black; his stepdaughters, Charlene Cooper and Amy Hollis; his grandchildren, Brandy Huntsinger, Chrissy Phillips, Dustin Black, Danielle Phillips and Jagger Phillips; his siblings, Edith Gaillard, Geneva Shannon, Brenda Lott and Jimmy Phillips; and also, Ooltewah, Athens and Statham. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
