It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan (Wilson) Whitmire (Jefferson, Georgia), who passed away on May 7, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Whitmire and Kate McDougald Whitmire; her husband Preston Wilson; and her son Mark Wilson. She is survived by: her siblings, Peggy Tolbert, Mildred Youmans, Pat Carter, Bobbi Watts, Lewis, Simon, Bill, Charlie, Jimmy and Mike Whitmire; her daughter Marcia Edwards (Rob) of Jefferson; her granddaughter Katie Garner (Stanley) of Jefferson; and her great grandchild Willow Garner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair and because of the Coronavirus outbreak, observe the State of Georgia recommended safe social distancing of six feet.
