With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Hurt of Jefferson, Georgia, born in Chickamauga, Georgia, who passed away on January 5, 2023 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hurt and Hesta Murphrey; and his siblings, John Hurt, Charles Hurt and Joann Ashford.

He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Hurt; his children, April McDowell (Marla Getford) and Matt Hurt (Melissa Connelly); and his grandchildren, Gabriel and Sophie Hurt.
