He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Cross and Inez Pritchett Cross; and his siblings, Bobby Dwayne Cross, Harold Robert Cross and Joyce O'Dillion.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Hackett Cross of Jefferson; his children, James Donald Cross II (Nina) of Lexington, John Robert Cross of Jefferson and Amanda Lynn Cross of Maysville; his grandchildren, Brent, Kyle Wilkes, James, Bradley Cross and Annie Jane Cross; and his sisters, Linda Langford, Jane Pruitt and Debra Elaine Benton.
