He was predeceased by: his siblings, Sallie Mae Avery Green, Myrtis Avery Steadman, Gladys Avery Kelley, Dorothy Avery and Luke Jo Avery.
He is survived by: his parents, Green Avery of Jefferson County and Stella Brinson Avery of Jefferson County; and his siblings, Malinda Gaines of New York, NY, Joyce Bryant (Michael) of Hephzibah, GA, Mildred Herrington of Douglasville, GA and Byron Washington of Roanoke, VA.. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins.
