He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Stringer and Geraldine Stokes Stringer; his wife Sara Virginia Stringer; and his son Billy Stringer. He is survived by: his daughters, Diane Knopick (Ed), Donna Bennett (Mike), Debbie Salsman (Larry) and Marty Gaddy (Denis); and his brother Charlie Stringer' (Judy). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren.
