We are sad to announce that on March 22, 2025, at the age of 86, Dorothy Lee Duke of Jefferson, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Odell Barrett and Bertha Irene Sorrells Barrett; her grandson Matthew Benjamin McCroskey; and her siblings, Branson, Conrad Barrett, Grace Barrett and Barbara Ann Gregory.
She is survived by: her husband Jack D. Duke of Jefferson; her children, Jackie McCroskey (Gary) of Flowery Branch, Dave Duke of Jefferson and Doug Duke (Becky) of Commerce; her grandchildren, Kayla Byrd (Calvin), Tim Duke, Jake McCroskey (Sarah), Reagan Duke and Grayson Duke; her great grandchildren, Sawyer Grace Byrd, Rylie Kate Byrd and Matthew Calvin Byrd; and her brothers, George, Willard and Harold Barrett of Franklin.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Evans Funeral Home (1350 Winder Hwy, Jefferson, GA 30549). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home (1350 Winder Hwy, Jefferson, GA 30549). A burial was held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 at the Woodbine Cemetery (147 Athens St, Jefferson, GA 30549).
