He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryant Raymond Hurst and Lessie Viola Tidwell Hurst; his son-in-law Bill Wilson; and his sister Jeanne Shanks. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Williams Hurst of Jefferson; his children, Kimberly Hurst Wilson of Lawrenceville and Dow Preston Hurst (Teresa) of Greensboro, NC; his granddaughters, Amber Rikard (Seth) of East Point, GA and Bonnie Willoughby (Joel) of Auburn, GA; and his great grandchildren, Rose Willoughby, Joellen Willoughby, Annie Willoughby, Peter Rikard and David Rikard.
