He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur Alford and Celia Kelley Alford; his brother James Arthur Alford, Jr.; and his granddaughter Macy Alexandria Cruce. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Wages Alford; his daughters, Janna Alford Kimmons (Barry) and Joanna Alford Cruce (Randy); his grandchildren, Courtney Cruce, Connor Ireland, Ansley Cruce and Chase Ireland; and his great grandchild Harper Cruce.
