Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Roy Gene Blackwell of Jasper, Georgia, who passed away at the age of 79, on February 23, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Blackwell and Callie Blackwell; and his siblings, Lila Johnson, William Blackwell Jr., Jim Blackwell and Jack Blackwell.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Blackwell; his sons, Roy Blackwell, John Blackwell (Amy) and Brandon Blackwell (Leah); his grandchildren, Jayvan, Kaleb and Denali Blackwell; and his siblings, Joe Blackwell, Jerry Blackwell, Sue Tatum, Joyce Davis and Patricia Blackwell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Cagle Funeral Home (364 E Church St, Jasper, GA 30143). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Sunrise Memorial Gardens (1440 W Church St, Jasper, GA 30143).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Roy's memory can be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation if you feel led to do so.
