He is survived by: his wife Bronzal Mathews of Jasper; his son Jason; his daughter-in-law Jessica Mathews of Ranger; his children, Jennifer Mathews (Daniel Blanton) of Jasper and Jimmy Mathews of Jasper; his grandchildren, Shelly Payne, Jonathon Mathews, Kayla Ryder, Thomas Ryder, Dalton Blanton and Aleah Blanton; and his great grandchild Layah Payne.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Roper Funeral Home and Crematory (206 Holly St, Jasper, GA 30143). A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Silvers Family Cemetery.
