He was predeceased by: his father Hiram Taylor Nichols, Jr.; and his wife Juanita D. Nichols (Nita). He is survived by: his children, Daniel Nichols (Hillary) and Ann Terrell (Denis). He is also survived by four grandchildren, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
