He is survived by: his sons, George Dewey King III (Marie) of Jacksonville, FL and Christopher Steven King of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, Alicia Carraway, Daniel Scott King, Amy Melissa King Hisle (Patrick), Elizabeth and Johnny Sharpe; his great grandchildren, Cole Carraway, Desie Carraway and L. K. Sharpe; and his siblings, Cassie Taylor, Annette Gorley (Eddie), Betty Joe Wright, J. W. King (Shirley), Sammy King (Joyce) and Lester King (Linda). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
