He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Elza Carter and Susie Kubecka Carter Lewis. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Lorraine Carter; his children, Christopher (Patricia Carter), Gregory (Maureen Carter), Jeffery (Mary Jeanne Carter) and Juliann; his son-in-law Lester Price; and his grandchildren, Lindsay Ames, Sarah Paul, Erica Pressley, Brandon Carter, Kale Carter, Mollie Patane, Alex Carter, Ethan Carter and Gabriel Price. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
