She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester William Smith and Carrie Sweatman Smith; her husband John Thomas Harkness, Sr.; and her siblings, Larry Smith, Gerald Smith and Estelle Ayers.
She is survived by: her children, Andy (Jessica Essary), John Harkness and Susan; her son-in-law Dan Feiler; her grandchildren, Carolyn Harkness, Audrey Harkness, Samantha Feiler and Jack Feiler; her siblings, Louise Mullins and Dale; her sister-in-law Geneva Smith; her nephew Wesley; and her niece Denise Parker. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
