He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas "Jim" Williams and Ellon Carder Williams; his wife Gale Meadows Williams; his children, Lois Childress Williams and David Williams; his grandson Jeff Williams; and his siblings, Ernest Williams, Virgil "Pug" Williams, Vernon "Gill" Williams, Azzie Lee Williams, Fannie Mae Williams, Valorie Williams Barnes and Mary Lou Williams Morris.

He is survived by: his children, Robert S. "Bobby" Williams (Susan) of Burgaw, NC and Connie E. Williams (Barney Lee); his grandson Tim Williams (Andrea); his great grandchildren, Taylee Williams and Syd Williams; and his stepdaughter Dawn Balkcom (Travis) of Jackson, GA.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
