It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Chapman of Jackson, Georgia, who passed away on September 4, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband J. C. Chapman; her daughter Jayneen Chapman; and her great grandchild Mollie Palmer. She is survived by: her son Charles Chapman (Susie); her siblings, Odessa Fields, Geraldine Van Riper, Vetrice Murphy (Billy), Bertha Morgan and Jimmy Wiggins; and her grandchildren, Nealey Palmer (John), Amanda Smith (Mike), Charles Neal Chapman, Jr. (Christy) and James Dale Chapman (Danielle). She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
