It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ernest Ray Whitworth of Jackson, Georgia, who passed away on March 8, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucius Edgar Whitworth and Ruby Loette Dickens Whitworth; and his siblings, Earl Whitworth, Virginia Jones, Lillie Cranford and Ann Freeman.

He is survived by: his wife Jean O. Whitworth; his children, Tim (Claudine Whitworth) and Andrea Jo (Mike Groover); his grandchildren, Anthony, Kristen Whitworth, Tara, Scott Albrycht, Alan, Dani Whitworth, Michelle, Chan Norman and Andrew Groover; his great grandchildren, Avonlea Whitworth and Haviland Whitworth; and his sister Doris Mitchell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
