He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Prentice Ridgeway and Mary Lizzie Pettigrew Ridgeway; his wife Saralyn C. Ridgeway; his close friend Audrey Halley; his siblings, Harry Ridgeway, Tommie Ridgeway, Frank Ridgeway, Martha Sims, Matilda Durham and Hazel Coleman; and his sister-in-law Frankie Hill.
He is survived by: his children, David P. Ridgeway, Jr., Perry Ridgeway (Lynn), Maralyn Probst (Curtis), Saralyn Wilson (Ralph) and Julia Ann Ridgeway Walklett (Bill); his grandchildren, Sara Davis (Scott), Robert Ridgeway, Bill Ridgeway (Teresa), Charlie Ridgeway (Terri), Caleb Probst (Allison), Casey Hastings (Brian), Annette Duncan (Brett), Allison Buckner (Drew), Brad Moody (Jessie), Karie Allen (Tim), Mark Moody (Kelly), Mickey Moody (Melissa) and Christine Edwards (Buddy); and his brother-in-law A. P. Churchwell (Rose). He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
