He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wiley Mote, Sr. and Gladys Smith Mote Murkerson; his brother Jim Murkerson; and his son Joseph Leo Mote. He is survived by: his wife Geneen Mote of Iron City, GA; his children, Deborah Jackson (Ronnie) of MacClenny, FL, James Wiley Mote III of Iron City, GA, Charity Baity of Jacksonville, FL, Buddy Dewayne Mote of Valdosta, GA, Laura Mote of Nebraska and Brandy Mote of Pensacola, FL; and his sisters, Valorie Kay Kelley (Oscar) of Geneva, AL and Janey Mote of Cairo, GA.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Due to the ongoing concerns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are to be worn and social distancing practiced.
Interment will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Deborah Jackson, James Wiley Mote III, Phil Davis, Andy Spooner, Laura Mote, and Charity Baity serving as active pallbearers.
