He is survived by: his children, Keith Mathis (Karen) of Panama City, FL, Ray Mathis (Kim) of Calera, AL, Laura Lovering (Michael) of Iron City, GA and Robyn Herring (Richard) of Iron City, GA; his brother Howell "Buddy" Mathis of Iron City, GA; his grandchildren, Jason Mathis, Elizabeth Mathis, Callie Willis (Zach), Rachel Mathis, Jacob Herring and Austin Herring; his great grandchild Jackson Willis; and his sister-in-law Sara Brackin of Iron City, GA.
